Welcome to the Mathematics faculty. In Senior Phase Mathematics we offer a range of courses including National 3 Lifeskills Mathematics, National 4 & 5 Applications of Mathematics, Level 4 & 5 Personal Finance and National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Mathematics.

In S1 students get Mathematics for 4 periods a week. During the year most students will cover the Second and Third Level experiences and outcomes for the following contexts: Number, Money and Measurement, Shape Position and Movement and Information Handling.

S3 Curriculum

In S3 students get Mathematics for 4 periods a week. During the year most students will cover the Third or Fourth Level experiences and outcomes for the following contexts: Number, Money and Measurement, Shape Position and Movement and Information Handling.

S4 Curriculum

In S4 students get Mathematics for 4 periods a week. Students will continue to study Mathematics with a view to being presented at National 3, National 4 or National 5 depending on their progress in S3.

National 3 Applications of Mathematics with units on Manage Money and data, Shape, Space and Measure, and Numeracy. Students will sit 4 unit assessments over the course of the year.

National 4 Applications of Mathematics with units on Finances and Statistics, Geometry and Measure, and Numeracy. Students will sit 4 unit assessments over the course of the year.

National 4 Mathematics with units on Expressions and Formulae, Relationships and Numeracy. Students will sit 4 unit assessments over the course of the year.

National 5 Mathematics with units on Expressions and Formulae, Relationships and Applications. Students will sit a final exam, consisting of two papers, or 3 unit assessments to gain unit passes.

National 5 Applications of Mathematics with units on Numeracy, Managing Finance and Statistics and Geometry and Measure. Students will sit a final exam, consisting of two papers, or 3 unit assessments to gain unit passes.

S5/6 Curriculum

National 5 Mathematics. Students will sit a final exam, consisting of two papers, or 3 unit assessments to gain unit passes.

National 5 Applications of Mathematics. Students will sit a final exam, consisting of two papers, or 3 unit assessments to gain unit passes.

Higher Mathematics. Students will sit a final exam, consisting of two papers, or 3 unit assessments to gain unit passes.

Award in Personal Finance

S6 Curriculum

Advanced Higher Mathematics. Students must pass 3 unit assessments before sitting the final exam.

Out with the classroom we offer our pupils many experiences. They include:

P7 Enterprising Maths Competition

Every year we invite all P7 pupils from our feeder primaries to compete in a morning of maths activities.

UK Junior, Intermediate and Senior Maths Challenge Competition

Pupils from S1-S6 compete in a national maths competition.

Enterprising Maths Competition

Pupils from S3 and S4 compete in team challenges.
