Parents’ Consultations

Reporting at Craigmount

At Craigmount our aim is to work in partnership with parents/carers to maximise the outcomes for young people. We believe this happens effectively when parents/carers are fully informed about their child’s progress. The daily ClassCharts system offers real-time updates on behaviour and engagement, allowing families to stay connected with day-to-day interactions in class. In contrast, the four annual Tracking Reports provide a summary of academic progress, effort, and behaviour across subjects, giving a broader perspective on your child’s overall progress throughout the school year. Together, these reporting methods work hand-in-hand to ensure a clear and complete picture of your child’s learning journey. In addition to this we have an annual parent/carer consultation evening where you can book appointments with your child’s teachers to discuss progress and next steps.

Class Charts

ClassCharts is the school’s daily system to share information, record behaviour and engagement. It gives parents/carers an up-to-date view of how pupils are doing in lessons throughout the school day.

Parents/Carers will receive information on rules and expectations of learners are based on three key areas:

  • Ready– This refers to the behaviours required to learn effectively.
  • Respectful- This refers to the behaviours expected of responsible citizens.
  • Safe– This refers to the behaviours required so that we can all remain safe from harm.

We believe in the Positive Recognition of pupils, and we use our School Values below as the basis to reward positive contributions to learning as the gold standard to which students can aspire:

  • Awareness– This recognises commitment to social justice and equalities
  • Drive– This recognises effort and ownership of learning.
  • Aspiration– This recognises achievement in learning.
  • Purpose– This recognises wider contributions and achievements across the school and local community.
  • Trust– This recognises actions of respect and kindness.

Parents/Carers can also view teacher comments, which provide helpful context about progress, behaviour and achievements. ClassCharts is designed to help families stay connected, informed and involved in their child’s learning journey.

Pupil Tracking Reports

We publish four Tracking Reports each year, giving a clear overview of how your child is progressing in every subject. Tracking Reports capture key information including:

  • Attendance
  • Target grade or level
  • Current working grade or level
  • Progress
  • Effort
  • Behaviour

Progress, effort and behaviour are all shown as either Exceeding Expectations, Meeting Expectations or Not Yet Meeting Expectations, giving a clear indication of how well your child is engaging with their learning.

Where appropriate, the Tracking Report will also include coursing information, such as recommendations for the following academic year.

If a pupil is not meeting expectations, the teacher, faculty, or Year Team will take action to support improvement. This may involve interventions and communication with parents/carers, ensuring that families are fully involved in the child’s improvement journey.

Tracking Reports work alongside ClassCharts to give a complete picture of your child’s learning, development and progress throughout the year.

Additionally, our Year Teams are available for appointments during the Consultation Evening or at other times throughout the year as needed, ensuring ongoing support and communication.
