History

Opening its doors in August 1970, Craigmount High School welcomed in cohorts of first, second and third years to the new school from neighbouring Tynecastle, Forresters, Craigroyston amongst many others. Since then, the school has acted as a hub for the surrounding community, whether it is through hosting charity fundraisers, to drama productions or as a centre for local groups to congregate.

Several former as well as current teachers and pupils from Craigmount High School have shared their memories from the early years of itchy brown blazers to the modern era of black jumpers and polo shirts. When Craigmount High School opened, the school became a standard bearer for how educational environments should be set up.
