As the long weekend arrives (and hopefully some nice weather too), please find a quick update about Craigmount High School.
Health & Safety Management
After reviewing our systems in place and considering feedback from learners and staff; we have made some slight adjustments to the management of learners around the school premises. The learners were all informed yesterday through a virtual assembly and the new information can be found here.
S4 – S6 Assessment Calendar
There is now an assessment calendar for S4 – S6 for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher which includes assessment dates from now until Christmas.
This has been uploaded onto the school website and can be found here:
Please be aware that we are still waiting on an update from the SQA about any adaptations which they may make to this year’s courses and assessment arrangements. As a result of this, we are unable to finalise our assessment plans beyond Christmas and we may have to adjust some of the dates included in this document. If any amendments are made, I will amend this document on the school website to ensure it is as accurate as possible. We hope that you find this information useful in supporting your young people in fulfilling their potential this year.
A massive thank-you for all your support in educating your child about the necessity of the Health & Safety measures. In particular, how the country has implemented the “rule of six” from two households to avoid another national lockdown (thus keeping schools open). We appreciate that some learners find this difficult to comprehend: when at school this does not apply but when out in the community it does. Any help in clarifying this is gratefully received.
With changeable weather becoming more the norm, we ask learners to remember to bring appropriate outdoor clothing. Part of the authority’s health & safety measures are to have learners outside as much as possible, especially social time. Again, thank you for your support in this.
Parent Survey Results
A huge thank-you to all the parents you took the time to answer the questionnaire last week. You can see a summary of the results here.
