NHS Careers Insight Day

Saturday 3rd November 2018

 Western General Hospital, Edinburgh

We wish to offer the opportunity for your school students to attend a Work Experience Programme on Saturday the 3rd November 2018 at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh

The NHS Career Insight Programme Day, organised by Vision In KidS(VIKS) and supported by Lothian Health, aims to provide an insight into the varied careers and working opportunities for pupils from the secondary school years who wish to experience the world of work in the Health Service.   This all day programme aims to provide a broad outline of many of the potential careers in the Health Service, as outlined in the attached provisional programme for the day.

Our aim is to provide varied and broad programme through a combination of talks, video presentations as well as importantly hands on experience through the workshops for the students.  The careers that we outline will be suitable for  graduate as well as a non-graduate career paths,  for students of all abilities so there will be something for everyone. We wish to offer this for S2 students although other years (S3 – S5) may be considered. However, we anticipate high interest from many other schools and is likely to be over-subscribed.  Attendance is free but registration is required through the nominated school lead/head/deputy.

If you wish to make any further enquiry about this programme AND to register your school to enrol please contact Louise McAtamney, Employability & Work Placement Administrator:
