This week poppies will be on sale to remember and commemorate all those affected by conflict in the run up to Armistice day on the 11th November The money raised will be given to Poppyscotland who do vital work with those involved with the armed forces, past and present, and their families. This is from Poppyscotland’s website:
“We reach out to those who have served, those still serving, and their families at times of crisis and need by offering vital, practical advice, assistance and funding. We believe that those who serve or have served, whether regular or reserve, are deserving of our support to live life fully without disadvantage after service. No veteran should live without the prospect of employment, good health and a home, and we all have a part to play in achieving this.”
Students will be selling poppies all this coming week at tutor time. There will also be a donation box in the office and staffroom. Please give generously as this charity does incredible work. Thank you.
