Debating – Mr McPake

Craigmount won the University of St Andrews debating competition on Saturday. Congratulations to Aidan Shiels and Andrew McDiarmid!

Debating will take place in the library during Thursday lunchtime. The motion is This House believes that, in general, the book is better than the film. The motion marks Book Week Scotland.

Friday debating is on this week. The session is aimed at preparing for Edinburgh juniors. Seniors are welcome to attend as judges.


Book Week Scotland

Come by the library at break to play Who Owns a Bookshelf Like This? Can you guess whose bookshelves belong to which member of staff? The person with the most correct answers will win a prize!

Book Week Scotland Wednesday lunchtime: Reading Lunch (Readaxation in disguise): come along to the library at lunchtime, bring your lunch and enjoy reading a book whilst getting away from all distractions. All staff and pupils welcome!


Are you in S1-3?

Are you interested in becoming an entrepreneur, or fancy a job in I.T?

We have 15 places avaliable at a virtual expert session, you will get the change to speak to someone in this role via a skype interview and ask them questions.

The session takes place on Tuesday 27 November at 11am –11.30am with Nick Cohen, an IT Entrepreneur. at 11:00 in the science corridor lab 1/50.

Speak to Mrs Stevens if you are interested in this opportunity, you must submit your name by Friday.


Lego Robotics Challenge (S1 –S3)

The next meeting will be this Thursday 22nd November in room 145 (Science, Mr Owens)

All those taking part MUST attend, as you will be learning more about how to program the Lego Mindstorms robot system.

If you cannot attend, please speak to Mr Owens or Miss Burns before Thursday lunchtime.

Edinburgh Schools Sports Academy – New Volleyball Development Squad for S1/S2:

The Sports Academy are introducing a new volleyball/beach volleyball development squad this year and applications are open for anyone in S1 or S2 who would like to apply.  Details are on the screen in PE dept, please drop in to PE Base if you would like an application form.  Closing date is Friday 23rdNovember.
