Dear Parents/Carers

Thanks to all of you who have now returned the annual data update by today’s deadline. If you have not yet managed to return this, please do so as early as possible next week.

Now that we are three weeks into term, the clubs and activities are well underway, and I’m particularly pleased with the high engagement levels of our S1. Below is a brief report from Mr Russell, our Active Schools Coordinator:

“Our after school sports programme kicked off this week which saw a range of activities take place across the week. It was especially pleasing to see so many of our S1 students looking to get involved, with over 50 S1 showing an interest in netball and 40 S1 getting involved in dance. Our fantastic volunteer coaches look forward to working with our young people in the coming weeks. Full information for all activities can be found on the school website at http://craigmounthighschool.co.uk/faculties/after-school-sport-active-schools/

Active Schools is using a new online sign up system this year – Join In Edinburgh is a citywide booking system that all schools will be using moving forward. Letters were issued to all S1 Parents recently and copies are on the school website. These explain how to sign up, and I would encourage all parents and carers to register their child for after school sport at the following link: https://www.joininedinburgh.org/activity/14765/
Mr Russell, Active Schools

This week our senior students in Business Education attended a Conference on Business Management at Napier University. I am grateful to Mrs Scott for facilitating this valuable experience for the students.

Next week we will be holding our Faculty Awards event and I am looking forward to seeing many of you at this. Mr Gray and Mr Pye have been communicating directly with those who are involved. I also want to flag up our first Parent Council meeting of the session in the staffroom on Monday 3rd September at 7.00pm.

Have a good weekend.

Mr Rae
