The main event in school this week has been P7 transition, and it has been obvious that thanks to all the excellent planning and organisation by support staff working with the twenty primaries involved, that we have had a very successful week. This was also the feedback from the very well-attended P7 Parent Information evening last night. With rising rolls, the new S1 will be a large year-group, and they had a great vibe about them. I want to also thank the S6 buddy guides, who did a great job and have made a big impression on the younger students. These positive relationships will continue into S1. Many of the S6 have now applied formally to be S6 House Ambassadors and we will be organising interviews as soon as possible for these roles. I also want to thank Parent Council members who supported the P7 parent event with refreshments and key information.
There was also a successful Battlefields Trip meeting yesterday evening in school. Thanks to the history team for organising this.
This week has also seen trips to the Highland Show and Edinburgh College for senior Food Consumer Technology students, who seem to have had a very positive and useful experience.
Finally, I am also pleased to report that our debaters have won the Donald Gorrie Debating Competition, another success to add to the many successes this session.
