What a fantastic start to the week we had with the Christmas Concert. The performances were excellent, with a musical piece for all tastes. The whole organisation and delivery was a real team effort, but I think it fair to mention the pivotal role played by Ms Hannah in pulling it all together during such a busy term. We are also very appreciative of the efforts and support of our cluster colleagues and students in making sure we had excellent choral input from the P7 students.
The concert certainly set a very positive tone for the week when there was a palpable sense of goodwill and wellbeing at times. The S1-3 assemblies, led by Ms Coull and Mr Harkness continued to stress how wellbeing connected with the rights and responsibilities we are working to embed in our school values and vision. I also received some glowing feedback from the staff at local care homes who had visited the school with residents to provide an audience for our S2 drama student performances. The students will be sharing some reflections on this inter-generational working at the final Christmas assemblies next Thursday. It was also a pleasure to give out the prizes to the S2 winners of the Invent a Device final that took place last week.
We have also been finalising the Christmas newsletter, which will be posted next week. Hard copies will be available for anyone that requests one.
