Thank you if you were able to support the Appeal for Indonesia this morning. The Charities Group helped facilitate this with Ms Grocott and those S6 students going to Indonesia later in the summer. This appeal raised over £400, which means we have raised over £1000 for charity already this term.
This morning, students who have been participating in drama electives as part of the Creative Minds curriculum gave performances of their work to an audience made up of cluster primary students. This went down well. I was able to see some of the performances, and the students were certainly enjoying the experience.
We also had a very high turnout at the P7 Information and tour event on Wednesday led by Mrs Coull. There were over 300 in attendance and S1 next year will be an even larger year group.
After the break, we will be continuing our drive to ensure we have a parent/carer email contact for all students so please provide this if you have not already done so. Members of the office team will be making telephone contact to try to establish this. It is important we do have this email contact as we aim to increasingly use email as our main communication tool as we move ahead. Letters will also go out to those still to register on Parent Pay. This will assist the office team greatly as it reduces the handling of money for trips and lunch payments. Your support with this is very much appreciated. A letter with the guidelines for registering on ParentPay will be included.
This weekend Social Subjects will also be going on the New York trip, which will offer an interesting mix of educational experiences.
In the meantime, I wish you all a relaxing October break. Staff will return for in-service on Monday 22nd October. Students will return on Tuesday 23rd October.
