Craigmount High School

Trust, Purpose, Aspiration, Awareness, Drive

Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been another very positive day here at Tynecastle High School. All Staff and students continue to be a credit to their respective schools and lessons are in full swing! Transport arrangements with Lothian Buses continues to operate smoothly and I am confident this will improve further once travel routes, bus/walk times etc. are fine-tuned further. We will continue to provide free bus tickets & lunches for all students while we all adjust to these changes to our normal daily routines. We couldn’t be prouder of the way our school community has responded to this unprecedented situation we currently find ourselves in, and we would like to thank our students, parents and staff for their support at this time. We are working very hard to get an appropriate venue for our S1-S3 students and our student welfare is at the forefront of all our decisions.

Next week all senior students will follow their normal Craigmount timetable at Tynecastle High School. The school day at Tynecastle is very similar to Craigmount with school starting at 8.30am and finishing at 3.30. The exception to this is a Wednesday, when school finishes at 3.45. There is no daily tutor time within the Tynecastle school day structure which means that students go straight into period 1 class at 8.30am. It may be that we alter the finish time slightly to help with the large numbers leaving the school building but we’ll update Parents/Carers accordingly.

Updated information about arrangements for S1-3 is now available on the council website at the following address.

We will also endeavour to communicate progress on a daily basis through our own website.

Thank you all once again for the fantastic support you have given.

Mr Rae
