Dress Down Day

This Friday 30 June, there will be a Dress Down Day. The suggested donation is £1 and all profits will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust. There will also be a Bake Sale during break on Friday at the Sandwich Bar.

 

Edinburgh International Book Festival trips – last few places remaining:

Patrice Lawrence: Longing and Belonging (S2-S4) Thurs 24 Aug 12.15pm

Hear about the family stories that inspired her book Indigo Donut and come prepared with your questions as Patrice gives her top tips for creating realistic characters and writing about tough subjects.

Nicola Morgan: It’s not easy being a teen (S2-S4) Weds 23 Aug 12.15pm

Being a teenager is hard. With exams, peer pressure, friendships played out on social media and society’s demand to look perfect, modern teenagers can often struggle to cope. An insightful event looking at how understanding human behaviour can empower teenagers to control their own wellbeing and success.

Costs £3 (includes a £3 voucher to spend in the Book Festival bookshop). Please go to the library to reserve a place.

Get into Coaching – Basketball and Volleyball

If you are 14 or over and are interested in working towards becoming a sports coach, there are two courses taking place over the summer holidays to introduce you to the coaching pathway in basketball and volleyball. If you are interested in getting involved, please see Mr Russell in PE for more information, or see the poster at the entry to the PE dept

French Ski School 2018

If you are interested in coming to French Ski School 2018 then come and see Mr Gray in the PE department. We encourage anyone from complete beginners to those who have more experience. The cost is £779 and this includes; flights, accommodation, food/drinks, 30 hours of expert ski tuition (5 hours) and evening entertainment. Ask to find out more information.

 

Music Tour 2018 – Lake Garda, Italy

Can those interested in the Music Tour 2018 please come and see Miss Hannah to collect a letter asap (including those who already gave their names previously). This will include more information regarding cost and details of the trip. A small deposit will be required before the end of term in order to assure a place on the trip.

The Young Lawyer Programme – 30th July: Professionals from the world’s most prestigious law firms and barristers’ chambers will give your students a 360 degree immersion into life as a lawyer.
